The Direct Shear Tester is designed to determine the shear strength of soil samples subjected to horizontal shear force under controlled normal load .
It is widely used in foundation design, slope stability analyses, embankment projects, and geotechnical engineering applications to evaluate the shear behavior of soils.
During the test, the soil sample is placed horizontally inside a shear box divided into two parts, and a vertical normal load is applied using a precision loading system.
While the lower half of the shear box moves at a controlled displacement rate, the applied shear force and vertical displacement are continuously monitored.

Automatic Direct Shear Testing Machine, 5 kN capacity.
The shearing speed is continuously adjustable from 0.00001 to 9.9999 mm/min.
A 5 kN load cell is used for force measurement.
The machine is supplied with:
-10 mm Vertical travel displacement sensor with 0.002 mm resolution
-25 mm Horizontal travel displacement sensor with 0.001 mm resolution
These displacement sensors are used for measuring horizontal and vertical displacements.
A 50 kg dead weight set is included, consisting of:
